In this unit, you will be learning key information about how to become the best negotiator and how to use correct sales techniques to get where you want to be in both work and daily life.


Tips to become a top negotiator

The first lesson looks at the top 5 tips to become a top negotiator and explores the use of reported speech. You will be learning about top negotiators like Chriss Voss of the FBI, Nelson Mandela, and many more. You will be learning new vocabulary like; empathy and rapport and how they are related to negotiations.

Negotiate your next deal in English

You will be learning how to negotiate specifically in English with precise and clear phrases such as: ‘Our goal today is to find a solution that suits both parties.’ You will be looking at how having the right attitude and being inquisitive and attentive are important tools when negotiating. This unit has a reading comprehension task which you can do at the end to check your understanding of the article.

In addition to this, you will have an informative presentation of useful phrases and key questions to ask during negotiations for example; ‘What are we hoping to achieve today?’ and ‘Our absolute bottom line is..’ The lesson focuses on how to be concise and polite when negotiating in English.

Finally, you will be learning the 5 golden rules of selling. This lesson explores how sales techniques can be applied to get what you want in both business and life. It starts by explaining the fundamental points of how to be a good seller, for example by using simple techniques such as asking, listening, and understanding you will be able to deliver exactly what the client wants.

In sales it is important to remember that ‘people buy people’ – this article explains why certain brands, that sell the same products, are more popular than others and how you can be more personable when pitching your sale. Furthermore, this article introduces how to use adverbs of manner and you will learn how to use them correctly and see some new vocabulary in context.
