- A PREFIX is a letter or group of letters we add to the beginning of a word that changes form and meaning of the word.
- For example:
- -rich – enrich (from noun to verb)
- -sleep – asleep (from verb to adjective)
- -body – embody (from noun to verb)
- Some common PREFIXES include:
- – re-: to do again (renew, reconsider, redo, reuse)
- – anti-: against or opposed to (anti-war, antibody)
