Hello, ’m teacher Robin. Welcome another livestreaming class. If this is first time join us, let me welcome you into my living room and explain how the classes work. So today, ’m going be talking about homophones. So these are words that have the same pronunciation, but different meanings and spellings and ’m going show you 10 examples of the most commonly used homophones. So if you have any questions as we go along, feel free write them in the comments.

Okay, my first homophone is “”. So with an A is agree take something and “” with an E is not including. example, all of the conditions of the contract, the last one.

The next homophone is “”, so we have , the personal pronoun, and we have “” the part of the body that we use see. example, think have something in my .

The next one is “”, so , t-o, is a preposition of movement and “” t-o-o means also, example, am going the concert .

The next one is actually three different spellings and definitions we have “”. So t-h-e-r-e is referring a location or position. “” t-h-e--r is the possessive of they and “” t-h-e-y apostrophe r-e is the contraction of they are. example, They’re eating lunch over

The next one is “”. So h-e-a-r is “”, receive sound in ear. And “” h-e-r-e means in this location. example, can’t you come

Next we have “you’re” so we have the contraction of you are, “you’re” and we have the possessive of you, “”. example, You’re spilling coffee on the table

Next we have “” so f-o-r is a preposition which means that something is intended be given someone and “” f-o-u-r is the number . example, Can book a table people?

Next we have “”, so f-l-o-u-r is a kind of powder made from grain that we use cooking or baking and “” f-l-o-w-e-r is the beautiful part of a plant, the beautiful colorful part of a plant. So example, am making shaped cookies with cake

Okay, next we have “” so h-o-u-r in this case the H is silent. So, the pronunciation is the same. are many cases in English of words starting with h that have a silent h pronunciation. So with this “” h-o-u-r it refers time, so 60 minutes one , and “” o-u-r is the possessive of we. So example, flight is leaving in one

And finally the last one is “” so s-o-n, we’re talking about a male child when referring the parents and “” s-u-n is the star that the Earth revolves around. So example, My loves play in the .

Okay, so ’ve given you 10 examples of homophones. hope this has been useful you clear up some pronunciation questions and spelling differences. hope you’ll remember them now and recognize which one is which. So now want you practice by writing in the comments, some examples of these homophones that you have just learned. So look forward reading examples.
