To celebrate World Kindness Day, this week we are proposing songs that refer to this important human value. Today’s song is brought to you by Harry Styles, former member of the boy band, One Direction, and now solo artist.
Harry, known for his eccentric style, has released two solo albums since 2017 and his singles have topped the charts. The song, Treat People with Kindness, is not as well-known, but the lyrics are powerful. It talks about finding a place to feel good and treating people with kindness in a world that is so automatic. Enjoy!

Can / Can’t
- CAN is a modal verb that we use to express ability, possibility and permission in the present tense. For example:
- – She can speak English fluently. (Ability)
- – You and John can come anytime you want. (Possibility)
- – Can I go to Mary’s party on Saturday? (Permission)
Like all modal verbs, can doesn’t need an auxiliary to form the NEGATIVE or INTERROGATIVE. To form the interrogative we just need to add NOT after can (or its contracted form CAN’T). For example:- – They cannot play guitar.
- – They can’t play guitar.
- Subject + can not / can’t + verb + object
To create interrogatives, we just need to move the verb CAN before the subject. For example:- – Can we stay with you today?
- – Can’t they join us for lunch?
- Can + subject + verb + object?
