We propose today a song by the Australian pop duo Savage Garden. The duo achieved international success in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s with several hit singles, among them today’s exercise of To The Moon & Back

The expression “to the moon and back” of the title is actually an idiom used in English. It means ‘more than anything else’ in reference to the large distance between the Earth and the Moon. For example, it can be used as a superlative expression of love: “I love you to the moon and back.”  The song plays with this expression, using it as a metaphor. The lyrics are about a woman who does not seem to be lucky in love. And if she finds “the right kind of pilot” to love, she will fly him “to the moon and back.”
