• Like as a PREPOSITION is always followed by a noun. For example:

• – Mary looks like her mother.
• As a CONJUNCTION, we use like instead of AS in informal contexts and it is followed by a verb phrase. For example:
• – Nobody cooks like my mother does. (Informal)
• – Nobody cooks as my mother does. (Formal)
