- Spanish speakers
-False friends:
Embarazada – pregnant - Embarrassed – Feeling ashamed or shy
-Constipado – to have a cold- Constipated – to have difficulty with bowel movements
-Possessive adjectives:
His and her are the same word in Spanish
-Do vs. Make – same word in Spanish
-How to say your age:
I am 21. (correct)
I have 21. (incorrect)
How to express agreement:
I agree. (correct)
I am agree. (incorrect)
B and V pronunciation – same sound in Spanish
Russian speakers
-Russian does not have definite and indefinite articles (a, an, the)
-No dental fricatives (three becomes free)
-Fewer vowel sounds in Russian (5-6)

-No singular or plural
-“Th” sound
-Pronunciation of “L” and “R” sounds

Examples:
I ate a very berry ice cream.

In the first example, the difficult is in the vowel sound b and V, because V is a dental sound. To me, is very difficult, to think in English.
I’m Italian, as Spanish in my native language do and make are the same word (fare); the age is with verb “to have” (avere); I agree in Italian is “sono d’accordo”; her and his are the same word (suo). The sound of the vocals is very definite in Italian, that’s my big problem!

I’m from Russia. I always forgot about articles – it seems to me they are not nesessary ๐ And sometimes speak I’m agree instead of I agree.
