For this week’s lyrics we bring you Angels by English singer, Robbie Williams. This track represents Williams’ best-selling single and was voted the best song of the previous 25 years at the 2005 Brit Awards. Enjoy it!

Simple present for general facts

When we want to express general facts or things that are always true, we use the present simple. For example:
In Chicago, they colour the river green for Saint Patrick’s Day.
In New York, they shine green lights on the Empire State Building to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day.
The leprechaun is a mythical creature associated with Ireland.

Remember that all forms of the present simple affirmative are the same but the 3rd person singular, where we have to include a final -s. For example:
She celebrates Saint Patrick’s Day every year with her family and friends.
