In honour of Eddie Van Halen, who passed away 3 years ago, today’s exercise is based on Jump. The song, Jump was released in 1983 and is still to date Van Halen’s most successful single.

Van Halen is an American hard rock band formed by the Van Halen brothers, Eddie and Alex, and other musicians. The band is one of the best selling hard rock bands and is known for its energetic live shows and for the work of its acclaimed lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen.

The recently departed Eddie was a musician, songwriter, producer, and inventor. He was the main songwriter for the band. Eddie Van Halen is regarded as one of the all-time great guitar players in rock history and was well known for popularizing the “tapping guitar solo” technique, playing the guitar with both bands on the fingerboard.

On October 6, 2020, Eddie Van Halen died from throat cancer, an illness he had been battling since 2001. He was only 65 years old. RIP. Eddie.
