Today we bring a true classic, a song that is included in the Grammy Hall of Fame and is ranked number 14 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. The song Blowin’ in the Wind was written by Bob Dylan in 1962 and is described as a protest song that poses a series of rhetorical questions about peace, war, and freedom, questions to which “the answer is blowin’ in the wind.” Which means the answer is either very obvious or very obscure because it is as intangible as the wind.

The song has been recorded by countless singers, and the most commercially successful version is the one we offer here, performed by the American folk group Peter, Paul & Mary. The trio sang Blowin’ in the Wind at the 1963 March on Washington, best known as the protest in which Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous speech I Have a Dream. Since then, the song has become an anthem for the civil rights movements.
